    M1 308 value

I've acquired the following M1 and would appreciate a ballpark value:
    Thanks in advance.

    Here are the specifics:
    SA SerNo #1405XXX (3-43)
Stock has no cartouches but solid w/o chips or cracks
    Bolt - D28287-128A over S-87 diamond
    OP Rod - D35382 9 SA
    Trigger bubblegum - D28290 -14 - SA
Barrel - 7.62MM SA 11010457 SPL 9 65 M050 (believe these markings reflect a USN match grade barrel that was not installed on USN rifles)(passed the bullet test and is bright and shiney)
Rear sight - DRC on windage adj
    Front sight - NM

Pretty hard to give a value with out pictures. Condition makes a lot of difference.

Above is probably correct unless it is a CMP Navy barreled action but probably it isn't. Contact CMP with the serial number. Or if it is a SecNav trophy rifle and Jim Adell would be the person to contact on that.

I'd like to thank the members who offered advice (particularly p246 and 1563621) after pics were sent. My smith got involved and although he doesn't have gauges to measure TE and ME, he was confident that the barrel is nearly new, if not new. Since the drawing #s show it to be a Navy match grade that was not installed, he then checked headspace and we fired two enblocks of South African ammo with no problems in loading, feeding, firing or ejecting. I'm now a happy owner of a fine Garand in 308.
Thanks all for your help and advice.
