    I found an early M14 op rod without the hole in the piston, it is the bottom one in the photosdscn3200.jpgdscn3198.jpg

          Those were quite common in the A parts kits sold by the CMP a few years ago. Both Winchester like yours and also SA. In fact I just sent one of the SA rods out to Washington state for a fellow doing a SA build.
          It's nice to see these still around after 60 years.
