    M-14 Rogue project.

In the process of suppressing this Rogue monstrosity. James River M14 receiver with 19" Bula barrel. I have some 16" suppressor ready barrel assemblies coming in next week so it's time to get this thing ready. Can't wait to mount an OSS suppressor and get her out on the range. Whatta hobby!

Yep, she wins the ugly award but has been just as accurate as standard M-14 type rifles. Has it for a number of years now in all sorts of configurations. Just plain fun.

Re: Ugly award. Not my intention at all! Just never thought of the M-14/1-A as a bullpup. Never occurred to me. Would imagine a good bit of very creative gun smithing would be required for function, accuracy. Sincerely. bruce.

These are very well engineered. I can mount any of my dozens of M-14 type rifle actions in this and not loose any accuracy at all. Nice to have the significant change in overall length for some applicatons.

Back to the Rogue project. Today.

                  1. Remove old barrel
                  2. Get receiver ready for new barrel by lapping new bolt to 60/40 contact.
                  3. Wait for new barrels due in Tuesday.

Lapping the bolt lugs to the receiver using 220 grit and Brownell's tool.

It's all fun. Just another toy in the toy box. About the same accuracy as the standard 22" barreled rifles. The 16" suppressor ready that are due in tomorrow are thicker so there is really no whip to speak of. Whatta Hobby!

Finished her up with the new barrel and hardware this morning. Took photos with a couple of optic choices. I think the ACOG is going to be my favorite. Whatta Hobby!

Got out and ran 100 rnds function fire of MEN 94 through her this morning and it didn't skip a beat. Tossed brass at 2 oclock into my net . With the ACOG and suppressed, it's no target rifle but will sure do for the minute of man at 100.
