    nice birch M1 rifle stock

Always nice to have a nice figured birch stock, this was a gift from a 1st Sgt long time ago. Just
    used BLO for the finish.

Stock is unmarked, was a replacement P1010016_0012_012.jpgP1010017_0013_013.jpgP1010018_0014_014.jpg

Very nice. It's very hard to find 3 pieces of wood that match so well.

I have a similar stock full of small dings and needs refinishing but never followed thru since I could never find matching handguards.

Much easier on the M14/M1A stocks with just the one piece.

Beautiful piece(s) of flame birch. Birch is either really plain or very beautiful. Most are very plain but you have a winner there.

        early 1941 walnut from Winchester

Early Winchester 1941 walnut is also very nicely figured wood, difficult to find but still around. some
collectors believe Winchester used most of their custom shop deluxe wood for the war effort.

This Winchester front hand guard could have been set aside for a black diamond pump handle before
the war. The wood blanks for the M70 would have made nice M1 rifle stocksP1010048_1_0044_044.jpgP1010050_0050_050.jpgP1010046_0046_046.jpg
