I am looking for an M1 Garand receiver for BM 59 project
My brother is looking for an M1A receiver, he has a lead on a parts kit.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated

nf1e may be able to help with leads on a M14\\M1A,

he seems to have a good supply connection,


of course, he can always contact the makers (Bula, LRB, Springfield etc) and see if they will sell them

usually SA has some on Commercial Row during the Nationals at Perry


as far as Garands, try Gunbroker,

or buy a drill rifle thru CMP

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking about a drill rifle but was wondering if the receivers were rejected or out of spec thus used for drill. Will need to check them out more

Drill rifles, depending upon model, sometimes have the barrel spot welded to the receivers and the barrel chamber destroyed where it can not be loaded or fired. While in most cases the receiver can be salvaged it will require a lot of work, grinding, refinishing and at the end may not look as good as you wish.
