fiber optic front sight for M 1

Has anyone had experience using fiber optic light gathering or tritium front sights for M1 Garand rifle?
I'm 76 and thinking of these so my eyes can resolve (see better) for SR-1paper targets.

Hi, Phil I installed a Tritium front sight ( Smith Ent. ) on my CMP Special. I didn't see much of an improvement in sight picture. What did happen is that it tightened up the gas cylinder and gas cylinder lock improving my accuracy, LOL. It is more noticable in dusk or dark conditions but I wish it was wider, regards, Mike
