    Garand "gets bent"

Online seller Hanover Shooter Supply has a Garand listed. The site has a zoomable photo as well. Don't think it's doing much to move merchandise.

      Their M14 is even better.

When I was at WSMR we had a Lt. lean his NM M1 against his back bumper where he promptly forgot about it Backed his car up and rifle looked just like this.

That's what horizontals look like while your eyeball heals up and recovers shape after retina surgery. It's spooky.

Hmmm...don't lean your M16 up against the back of a truck while you climb in...driver will step on clutch and weight of truck will bend skinny barrel.....

We had a guy lay his M14 on the track of a bulldozer once. NOT nice.

A fellow had his M16 strapped to a earth mover in VN. Rifle broke loose and got run over. Not sure if he had to pay for it but it would have shot around corners if it could be fired.

Embarrassed to say, but I bent an M16A1 whispy barrel by using it to assemble those aluminum Army cots. The company armorer pointed this out to me. When we got the newer M16A2 I behaved myself and used the copper equipment grounding rod instead to assemble my cot. Yes "COT"...what can I say, we were mechanized.

                      Better jump on it, boys...

that is the only available example of the extremely rare, experimental 'extended long-range/indirect fire' version of the M1.

Perfect example on why things should not be judged by internet pictures, especially Gunbroker and ebay.
