    John Stuart Robertson

I am an old friend of John Robertson of Vancouver BC. I regret to inform his many
friends on CSP that he died this morning after a short illness.

I am sorry to hear that, I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago, always hoping that he would be on the mend. He was coughing like crazy. As you know JR had a long stint in the hospital and when he returned home the health problems continued.

I will treasure the guns I bought from John and the stories he shared.

    RIP Buddy

I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing. We used to exchange e-mails frequently about his travels and additions to his collection. He will be missed.

This is indeed sad, sad news. I will think of him every time I pick up my Winchester Garand and look at the Gas Cylinder I bought from him.

Have a good flight, Old Buddy.

John's wife gave me a call last night, she was surprised that I had already heard through the internet. There is to be a memorial service, I will keep folks informed. I am going on a road trip for a couple of weeks and will be in spots with no cell or internet so hopefully "can14" could also let you know in case I am out of service.

Sad news indeed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to John's wife. John's name will be mentioned in prayers at our Mass this morning. I will miss hearing his expertise, adventures, and stories in our long phone conversations.

Fair winds to you John and..................

“May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall soft upon your fields
                      And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand”

I'm sorry to hear that, I always liked John and enjoyed our conversations. He sent some very nice M1 bayonets my way years ago and I sent a very nice Long Branch sniper his way.

                        Salute to you, John.

Shocking news indeed. I was not aware of his illness. Over the last year or so, JR and I became friends and corresponded regularly. Rest in peace friend, amigo, and tomodachi. Vaya con Dios and sayonara.

Right you are, gimper. Sadly, we've lost two fine warriors and friends this year. The world is a different place without Major Culver and our Canadian friend John Robertson. I raise my glass to the memories of both of these fine gentlemen and pray that God will provide comfort and peace to their survivors.
