    CMP action wrench????

I just had their 3 way action wrench arrive at my door. It didn't come with instructions. How do I use this thing?????? Thanks.

Careful examination will show that it can be used on an 03,M1carbine or an M1. I cover the receiver area the wrench contacts with painters tape so I don't mar the finish.

Very cool. I think I've got it figured out. Thanks for the tape tip.

I picked up a couple of them a few years ago as a novelty. I actually use different action wrenches most of the time. The CMP jobbies were cheap and will do the job. The barrel vises they hawk are ok too. Again I have Brownell's vise with the full compliment of inserts for just about anything that shows up.

Agreed. Not enough junk on it. I'm not sharing pictures of mine.

Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to hold the barrel without the correct barrel vise. I've tried a couple things so far with no luck. Stay tuned.

"...without the correct barrel vise..." Don't even think about it. Mind you, the barrel vice is less important than the action wrench. You do need something that will hold a bushing that mates with the chamber area of the barrel. Brownell's sells barrel vices.

There is always clutter on at least one of my benches.

Geeze... Looking at your pictures, I feel like an amateur, LOL. I really need to get busy building that new work bench!

We are all amateurs. Been a ham for 53 years hence the NF1E call sign. My loading bench is an old motorola communications center. It's all fun.

Those two holes on the edges of the barrel clamp ..... drill some holes off to the side in a bench ..... bolt it down. Not a problem for me. Easy to "bubble" too.

I believe he has an action wrench, not a barrel vise.

Love those old boat anchors. I've got an R390A cluttering up my work bench.
