    That's a real historical article. Dated 1939, they refer to WWI as the "World War" not WWI. Mentioned that if an emergency should arise, the rifle could be mass produced.

      Winchester had already received a gas trap rifle to study in 1938, later they would receive another gas trap (15070) which is still at Cody

        It was interesting that the last two paragraphs mentioned that foreign powers would someday obtain specimens of the rifle but that its materials and details of their treatment and details of manufacture etc. are closely guarded secrets.

          I just noticed another article from that site about counter espionage. The December1951 Coronet article stated that "false or trivial information" was sent to Germany about the Garand rifle.
