    Ammo

    I have some 30-06 with head stamp AMA 80 and some 308 with FNM 83-77, is this non corrosive. can't find any info on this ammo, can you help?

    AMA is Danish. FNM is either Portugese or Mexican. Both are probably Berdan primed so I can't say if they are corrosive. Treat it as corrosive until you find out for sure.

        Unload a cartridge, clamp in vice, open end down, over a chunk of bare steel. With eye and hearing protection hit primer with a dull nail (or such). It will put residue on steel which will cause rust in day or two if corrosive. Do it in a damp basement. Warn wife you will do it so she doesn't call the cops!

          The AMA is Danish and is Berdan primed. It's not corrosive, and fairly accurate too!
