I will call my 'Uncle Ed', today. He was 19 years old, when he landed on Omaha Beach in the 2nd or 3rd wave (1st Army).Comment

D-Day and the Liberation of the Continent of Europe from the Nazis!
Good Bless Our Troops, then and now. I'm considering a trip to the range with an M1 and firing a clip or two in rememberance! We were blessed to have such heros, and leaders in politics and industry who gave them excellent tools for the job. June 6 will ALWAYS be about D-DAY to me!! The people in France, young and old, celebrate June 6, 1944. The French lost alot of civilians that day too. I am proud to have a Frenchman as a friend. He and his friends do reenactments during the celebration including jumping out of an old C-47. They have restored WW2 fighting vehicles and wear G.I. unifrorms.Comment

My uncle Zane was about the same age when he jumped in with the 101st. He's gone now but I always wear my "Screamin' Eagle" tie tack on June 6th.Comment
