    Can anyone help with a SRS check on SA 2788940. Thanks.

            It usually just will tell you where a certain rifle was at one point in its long history. Like "5512440 100254 H&R (Endurance Test)" or "6094094 NM 091157 SA (shipped to USA AMU).
            In the first case 5512440 underwent endurance testing at HRA on 10/02/54. Just a snap shot of one point in the rifles history. Sometimes the information could be of value to you, other times not. Some people here have listings containing this information. If you subscribe to the SRS journal they will look up a serial number for you and tell you if they have a record of the ser. number. If you want anything further, such as a copy of the document the information was gotten from, I believe there is a charge.
