    Kollmorgen scope

Just wanted to share some pics of my Kollmorgen MC-1 scope. I am on the hunt for the rifle! This scope also has a base for a bolt action rifle.

Love my Artel, came with a Quantico build Springfield m1a. I am really wanting to mount the Kollmorgen on an m1c. I pulled off the base and it was marked Johnson.

        Very nice scope!

Has the mount been modified? It looks like there are screws where the levers are normally.

The screws are the only thing changed/modified due to the Johnson base that came with the scope. Everything else is correct.

Interesting, take a close look at the screws. From the pictures, it appears that the screws may have been fashioned from the levers, by cutting off the arms and cutting a slot in the head.

That's exactly what happened to the levers. My guess was that they were modified to fit on another type of rifle. The base that is on it os marked Johnson on the topside. I removed the base and was surprised to see that. The base is also well made and fits snug. I was just happy to find a complete scope setup for my M1c project. The scope is very clean and was well cared for before I got it.

Very nice scope and looks like its in great condition. I've been wanting one of those for years, just haven't found one at an affordable price...
So, for now my M1C is wearing a civilian Kollmorgen Bear Cub and reproduction Tarheel Ordnance mount.

Good luck with your search for an M1C. You could ping Tarheel Ordnance to see if they have any spare levers from the MC-1 mounts that they made a few years back.

I hope to have my Cmp M1c in a month or less. When I saw this scope sitting on a table at a gunshow I almost fainted. It sat there for 2 days before I got it. I figured to leave the modified screws/levers the way they are since more than likely it was a gi modification.
