    Won't him over

Shoot once a week with a younger guy (27). We mainly shoot long range bolt guns and ARs at his private range. He told me he had never shot a M1 Garand. I told him that was unamerican and we had to fix that. We went out today,as you can see in the pic with some of our usual bolt guns and ARs. I also took my HRA CMP special and some Lake City 69 ball. We have a 15 inch wide by 22 inch tall AR 500 plate at 600 yards. I set my come ups to 600 yards. Gave him a quick lesson on how the en bloc system worked and set up the bags. By the second en bloc he was ringing the plate. The smile on his face told me he was sold. I probably created another Garand Junki. Thread title should be won him over by the way.

It is always nice to hear someone bringing another shooter into the light. Congratulations, you have done well.

Never can have enough friends with the right firepower. Due to my port I am going to have to shoot something just a bit lighter. I have a Marlin 1894 in .44 Mag to match my revolver.

Not here... my Dad has an interesting story, qualified with an M-14 at boot camp in 66. Went back to guard unit which still had M-1s. Activated and sent to Vietnam where he was issued an M-16.
