Just bought a Colt SP AR15 A2 preban for $1100, and sold an Eagle Arms EA15 M4 preban for $1300. I only want one black gun and the Colt is it. Just added a period Colt 3x20 scope to it, looks very military. There are a lot of crazy prices out there right now but I expect them to level off once folks understand the world is not coming to and end.

Bought a S&W M&P15 about two years ago. $850 shipped, including a rebate for 6 30 rd. Magpul magazines. Love to shoot it.

Paid $295 in 1980 for a Colt SP1 and, except for a lower receiver, all the parts needed to build another. Then bought a Palmento lower for $100 and sold the completed rifle for $400. I still have the Colt, others have come and gone. There are two in the safe that I built up for High Power Rifle on Bushmaster lower receivers and Armilite heavy barrels with 1 in 8 twist.

I built most of my ARs for between $500 and $600. That was from 2007 to 2011. This one cost quite a bit more to assemble.
Colt 601 clone. All 601 except the barrel(which is as hard to find as a decent SPG Garand stock)and of course lower receiver.

Do you think the Krieger is worth the extra cost for service rifle shooting?

I won't argue that Krieger makes great barrels. I shoot a box stock Rock River national match AR. They come with Wilson barrels, I'm on my third barrel and have no complaints. I always looked at Krieger's but the Wilson's are half the cost and both times I needed barrels I had other issues where I needed the money. My son just got a White Oak service rifle upper and they use Wilson barrels. Given our experience, I'll probably go Wilson again when I need a barrel.

That is sweet. The rifle grenade adapter is a nice touch.

                          couldn't tell you,

they have good reps, but less than 2 months after I bought it (and put a jewell in the lower) I had to switch jobs, seems the one I had decided to sell out,

did not have the time off to compete for the next year and a 1/2, and rarely make a match now, when I do it is a 100yrs match so I shoot a short range gun I have or a 1903 or garand,

sadly, it is a safe queen,
