        Early Colt SP1

There are some interesting parts on SP1 s/n 201 such as the triangle charging handle, the flash plated bolt carrier.

While looking though the early Colt SP1 manual, I noticed Colt SP1 serial number 100 was used in the photos. The photos show s/n 100 with a parkerized bolt carrier and later charging handle.

Also have included some photos of a Colt SP1 in the 700 serial number range, also with the parkrerized bolt carrier and later charging handle, this SP1 also came with the magazines marked COLT AR-15 but had the small CAL..223 marking. This rifle is also unfired since purchase.

The question, were military parts used in the first few hundred Colt SP1 rifles or were they added at some point during ownership

The charging handle is from the XM177 model I thought. Very cool feature! I have seen other early SP1's with Chrome bolt and carriers as well as waffle Armalite marked mags.
