    Search for an SP-1

Not my post, but I think we can all empathize with this guy - he's searching for his old SP-1 that he had to sell to fund his divorce.

many years ago, I bought a SP1 three digit, four digit anf five digit and had never had a thought to sell them. The five digit has been
changed from time to time as I wanted to test a Colt 606 heavy barrel upper that was original and a very early CAR-15 stock
to see how it works. I can restore the five digit back to original too.

That's like trying to find your old rusted out 1965 GTO you had back in high school.

      1. The new owner may not want to part with it.
      2. How many of us know our serial numbers and it may be packed away so far that checking it would be a chore.
      3. Most importantly, the owner would just happen to read this thread in this forum.

I think it is far worse than finding a needle in a haystack.

i dont know... how many people claim to have gotten their M1 from when they were in the service, back 70 years ago when they charged into the Chosin Reservoir or carried in Berlin on The Wall...
