    Expensive ARs in Europe

My Euro pals all make a face when I ask how many ARs they had... before the boating accident. They all don't have one and no plans for that.

My Hungarian friend sent a Kettners catalog (Euro version of Cabelas) in the last box. Pretty interesting! It would be cool show up at the range with a Schmeisser AR... if they were a lot cheaper. Schmeisser also got on the 1911 bandwagon - in 9mm only. SW

And just for fun, here's one of their airgun pages. The double barrel Ithaca & Auto Burglar clone looks pretty neat!

100 eu for the Umarex Broad Axe, which I've seen on clearance for 29.00 CAD at cabela's.
Must be some newfangled carbon tax scheme over there :P
Wonder if they are air-soft guns?

    Regards,

I think so - I'll try for a pic later.

Relating to prices, sporting goods are heavily taxed. Then there's VAT = value added tax. In Hungary, it's 27%. SW

I don't speak German, but I think their air soft analog is on the page shown. They do list various size containers of chalk balls that look a lot like air soft ammo. SW
