What is correct lube procedure to use?

Have my HBAR ]5.56MM] from the 90's and MSR in .450 Bushmaster.

Seen on other sources that lubricating the bolt carrier and action varies what is correct.

Lube is "Shooters Choice" FP-10 CLP, and leave the BC and the slots [underside of bolt] wet.
