    Which lowers are CMP legal?

Local dealer has some AR-15 lowers which are extra heavy duty. Milled from block of aluminum. Are those legal for CMP competition? I looked in the CMP manual and wasn't sure if "service rifle or commercial equivalent" means the lower must have all the same external dimensions and radii as an M16 variant.

yeah, i think they need to be the same as the issue rifle...

ive got a Mega lower with a "checkered" pad on the front of the mag well and i was told THAT makes it illegal....

I have a DPMS lower that is steel (I think stainless). Would this gun be illegal?

the material or finish on the receiver doesnt affect legality...

the measurements and configuration do though...

Yes- it must have the same external dimensions to be a Service rifle.

I've found this to be true.
