    Extractor ???

I have an extractor with an S stamped on the edge. Could this be a Smith Corona part?

    Yes.

Is the "S" on the bottom when the extractor is installed?

If so, I believe it to be a Smith-Corona part. --Jim

Jim, it is on the side. I have a couple of Remington's that are stamped on the under side. .This one is stamped on side right where it attaches to the collar, ring (can't think of proper name at the moment) on the bolt. Or better yet as you stated where the extractor is installed. I hope it is because I just shipped a forum friend some SC parts and he will get a Freebie if it is. I don't have a SC and probably never will .

      thanks

An extractor with a large "S" stamped on the bottom edge with no gas escape hole in the claw is a Smith-Corona extractor.
