Picked this up Saturday at a gunshow here in Maine. SA 8-44 Barrel in very nice condition.

You have a CMP Greek rifle. In 2001, the CMP re-imported 47,000 rifles that had been loaned to the Greeks in the 1950's and sold the rifles over the next several years to their individual patrons. While in service, the Greeks frequently overhauled and repaired the rifles to include such things as refinishing, re-barreling, serializing bolts and stocks, and re-assembling from mixed parts. You have one of those rifles.

These rifles are not new from manufacturer and some have seen considerable use. All appear to have been rebuilt at one time or another. Many appear to not have been fired since being rebuilt. Rifles are coated in grease or cosmoline and will require a thorough cleaning after purchase. CMP has inspected each rifle for completeness and headspace.
