My small collection of four digit rifles

I started buying these receivers from the CMP auctions some years ago, the finish on
these receivers is how I received them. I had a lot of early parts and used early barrels
and early stocks. They are not really worth much but fun to collect and I also enjoy
shooting them with the 30-06 chamber adopter in 32 ACP and 32 S&W. I am going to
    try the 32 S&W Long now.P1010051_0043.jpgP1010052_0044.jpgP1010054_0046.jpgP1010016.jpg

What a neat idea. Where do you get the "adaptor" cartridges?

I've seen those .32 adapter cartridges in sportmans guide. I'm not sure if they still have them.

I am really surprised someone hasn't made a run of those Numrich .22 caliber barrel inserts for the 1903's.

Those barrel inserts are pretty simple for someone to make and I think they would sell a lot. A barrel insert, and the tool to insert it, and pick up a M2/1922 bolt and you have a .22 M1903 single shot.

I love mine. I shoot it all the time. And what is neat you can put them in the 03 snipers.

another rim fire conversion to the Model 1903

Back some years ago, the CMP was selling low number M1903 barreled actions for $100.00. I
bought one and the bore was burned out. Had a quality 22 rim rifle liner with rear extension
installed for $85. It is important that when you buy an M2 bolt you get one with the headspace
adjustment. Excellent single shot but I have since found some original M2 parts, trigger guard,
magazine and mag catch. I will have to grind some metal from the feed ramp and make a
plate over the magazine to attach the mag catch. The old Lyman 438 scope works out well tooP1010017_0014.jpgP1010014_0006.jpgP1010009_0009.jpg

To me that is perfect! Great job!

I put the Numrich barrel insert in the A4 for my kid. I have a M2 handle that is bent and fits the cutout of the A4 stock perfectly.

I swear he ran probably 5k rounds through this setup last summer.

I own RI 3122, and it looks like a new rifle inside and out. The Marines had 18 4-digit sn 1903's that I can verify, probably more.
