    1905-05 mod

Has anyone seen a Springfield 1903 with the 05 mod still in 30-03 cal ? If so where was it and was it for sale?
    Thanks

More difficult to find then a rod bayonet rifle, Joe DeChristopher use to sell the 2400 yard rear sight leafs and you can still find stocks (RIA & SA) with the second band screw hole too

I once saw an action with basically all the metal parts as reported by a friend. It was well out my budget. Probably 3-4 years ago.

I think you might be stunned at their value.

Try Julia's or Rock Island Auctions.

Getcha toes out of the way and show some detail in photos !! We love to see that stuff. Does the handguard have a "sighting groove" ??

Yes, I have seen one. A club member has one that has not been converted to '06 calibre, and to boot, the muzzle was threaded for a Maxim. He displayes it frequently with a "fake" Maxim that he made out of wood and painted black.

I am aware of two of them and both are for sale. One is the rifle pictured by milgunsguy and the other is owned by a friend. Neither rifle has the correct 1905 stock.

                Hope this helps.

I had a revised stock once. I dont know if it was a 1905 though. Found it at gun show for $60.00 about 4 years ago. ( It's moved on now )
