Late RIA/SA rifle

I recently acquired what I believe to be an essentially correct RIA/SA rifle in the 400,000 serial number range. The only part I really questioned was the windage knob which has an R stamped on it. Today I was looking at my other RIA/SA rifle in the 399,000 range and it has the same windage knob. Could the R marked knob be correct or is it just a coincidence?

Coincidence ... no SA or RIA windage knobs were marked with an R.
