Remington 03A3 maybe a sniper model

I resently received this 03 and I dont know anything about it. any info anyone can give me would be great. it appears to be very clean. it has no sights not sure if thats a good thing.

Looks like an original M1903A4. Look under the end of the barrel for a punch mark. Had to do a handstand to see the last photo, but it looks like an original bolt, too. Lift the handle of the bolt and take a photo of the stock where it is relieved.

Nice find. I wish I would "receive" one of those!

The markings on the side of the receiver identify it as a M1903A4 sniper rifle - without the scope and mount.

Well, I am definitely no expert, but I am sure others will chime in. Ball park...If you "received it" for less than $800 or so then you probably got a great deal. Of course, it all depends on bore condition, etc...

The bore is shiny and has very strong rifleing

Looks like the receiver has been drilled and tapped for a Lyman receiver sight. Hurts value a lot.

The stock cut looks legit. Any stamps on the wood?

A nice, original, blued, complete A4 bolt recently sold on fleabay for $750. Lots of value if sold seperately.

The attached A4 photoguide will give you an idea of the important views.

Only about 10% of A4's are in the "Z" range so that may contribute to a bump in the value a lot will depend on whether of not the rifle has been rebuilt and are original markings intact.

I will work on getting the pics according to the diagram tommorrow. I found it at a pawn shop
