While both the receiver of the 03-A3 and 03-A4 are marked 03-A3, they are in different locations. The markings on the 03-A4 are offset so that they aren't under the scope base.

"...a real 03A4?..." There's a known S/N range. Between serial numbers 3407088 and 4998320 is real. And Remington made in 1943 only.
