    1903 Stock time frame

I have a worn beat up stock. It is straight griped, finger grooved and has two stock bolts. The only markings I can find is/are: a capitol "T" in the barrel channel and in the trigger guard mortice. Maybe a small capitol "D" in the magazine cut off well and a possible "D and 4" just ahead of the magazine well. There maybe the remenants of the circle "P" behind trigger guard.
Do any of these marks give a time frame for production of this stock or is it just too worn.
    Thanks.

Another possible clue -- look on the foretip (the wedge of wood you'd see if you were looking down the barrel). Is there an "S" or an "RI"?

      No marks on the tip.

Can you tell if the circled "P" is serifed, or not?

Chances are it is WWI-era. Is the left side of the stock a "straight edge, or does it have a dog leg in it?

There is no "P" left visible in the circle behind the trigger guard mortice. There is a very light drop in the edge of the stock line where the action would be but from looking at pictures of other rifles I think it is the same. I will try and add some pictures but my area is having internet problems and i haven't added pics to a thread in years.
As a side note, I picked this stock up about a year ago with the intension of putting it on my 1.3 mil rifle that i returned to military configuration 30 yrs ago. The cut up stock had finger grooves and it now has a scant grip 03-a3 stock.
Thanks for the replies and interest.
