    Inletting a stock

I need to do some fine tuning to the inletting on my 03 stock (probably a Boyds?). The receiver sits too high and is interfering with the feed from the mag well. I seem to remember chuck saying you use shoe polish on the receiver to shack the fit. Does it matter what kind of polish? TIA.

Probably not, just needs to show where the receiver is hitting the wood. I had the same problem with a Boyds CMP C stock. Mine needed the trigger guard inletted deeper, make sure that's not your problem before you go taking wood out of the top side. Boyds stocks aren't only fat side to side but top to bottom as well.
