A82 (sure it's not A32??) is the steel lot code."We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."

An 8-44 will be 2-groove."We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."

2-groove barrels were introduced about mid-1943 and used exclusively on production Remington M1903A3s and for replacement barrels after that time. They are extremely common."We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."
