Thank you Tom! I've got to give credit to John Beard though who verified my inquiry as to it being a National Match rifle and informing me specifically that it was a 1920 National Match rifle. I didn't even know that such a critter existed. John's a mighty patient man though and he educated me some on the subject.Comment

Arrrrg!

Ya know, you're right Rick. My wife told me a few minutes ago that if I want any more 03's, I'm either going to have to build a bigger gun cabinet or stop buying them. Well heck, I guess I'm going to have to build or buy another gun cabinet!Comment

It is a rifle! It wants to be shot! It needs to be shot! It's quietly hoping you will use it as it was intended to be used, dropping full metal jackets through paper target bullseyes. Don't abuse it, but use it. She will love you for it.Read, think, UNDERSTAND, commentComment

I agree Dolt. It's a finely tuned instrument that was created in a time when watches and rifles were assembled by skilled craftsmen under the tightest controls and tolerances in an era when wood and steel were mated together like bark on a tree. It was the zenith of military and target rifle technology that has never been topped. I recommend that every knowledgeable rifleman try to obtain one before their cost rises beyond reach.Last edited by Fred; 10-31-2013, 03:38.Comment
