First time trying to post pictures, please bear with me. I have a Mark 1 shooter that has a S proof stamp along with 2 proof P's,which are probably an original and a rebuild. Any thoughts or info would be appreciated!

The "S" and "eta" symbol markings are Greek markings. Most of the Greek rifles had those marks in the locations shown. The meanings are unknown, but are probably Greek inspection marks. Almost all the Greek M1903 rifles had been disassembled to pin the trigger guards, serialize the stocks with the last 4 digits of the rifle serial number, serialize the bolt handles, and frequently remove and replace the magazine cutoffs. Many also had a "T" and/or an "eta" symbol stamped underneath the barrel behind the front sight.
Hope this helps.
