Chuck, I am guessing from the photos that the stock was sporterized. Can the rust be removed and the metal be restored if all is intact? How about the bore, any good?

              Chuck,

Does the barrel have an "A" stamped underneath the date? Please advise.

              Thanks!

              J.B.

J.B., do you think thats the correct bolt? doesnt look like most USMC used bolts, not numbered to the rifle, ect..

B & S is Brown & Sharp. WWII replacement bolt. Have a couple new in the box. Paid $5.00 for them.

im aware of that.. however, this bolt is not the norm that iv seen on USMC rifles.. im thinking it was changed well after the USMC had it, iv seen a lot of USMC RIAs with 111 marked SHT bolts, all were serialed to the rifle..

Chuck, that is somewhat of an unusual stock on it now. How about some photos after you have completed your handiwork.

                          Thanks for the posting.
