Nothin' in SRS. Looks like the stock is original to a Mark I.

Barrel date? Shot of the whole rifle?

Looks like someone started with a barreled receiver and built up a parts gun. Looks like a nice high-hump handguard. If it's in decent shape it'll getcha $100 easy.

That "1" looks a little odd . No expert by any means , so is it just me ?

I agree with you about the "1". Serial is not centered either. looks like the "1" was added.

No expert either but I see the same thing. If correct gun serials to 1934.

Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't that receiver have a Hatcher Hole?

I actually think the number is ok. There is a small punch mark under the serial and you see that done on a lot of late receivers, not on the early ones. But I am far from an expert.

The "1" looks real. That's normal.

SRS did have a real close number to yours, 1446282, just 5 rifles between this one and yours but, of course this means nothing in regards to your rifle, just a coincidence. That rifle was shipped to the "Maine Maritime Academy in Sept. 1942 along with 1413774.

The "1" is probably part of the serial number. When the "1" stamp was used, there was less "area" than the rest of the numbers but the same "hit" on the stamps. I have seen a lot of "deep" 1s on later M1903s.
