    1903 Springfield price check

    Hi Guys
I looked at a 1903 rifle today. Price is 850.00. Receiver made 1921, barrel is a RA replacement. RAP on side of stock with open P at wrist. The stock is from a Mk.1 with ejection port cut. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanx.

Many RA M1903 barrels today are actually M'03-A3 barrels that have been altered in Bubba's workshop to fit a M1903 rear sight collar. If the barrel is dated after 12-42, then it's probably an M'03-A3 barrel. Rifles fitted with such barrels are worth commensurately less because rear sight collars are seldom fitted properly.

If the rifle is fitted with an M'03-A3 barrel, then it's worth in the $500-$600 range. If it's an original M1903 barrel, then the asking price is on the upper end, but not unreasonable.

    Hope this helps.

That stock is worth it to some Mark I collectors.
