    Rod Bayonet bolt?

I have a 1917 dated rifle with a straight handle bolt on it that has absolutely no marking on it at all anywhere except for a Very tiny P under the bolt handle. The body of the bolt is polished and I believe that it was done in an armory. The handle was originally blued, but it's worn now. If I can get the photo's to transfer from my iPhone to my computer, I'll post them here. Could the bolt be an original Rod Bayonet 03 bolt?

I've always been told that virtually non-marked bolts with straight handles are very early RIA or SA bolts. I assume that would include RB rifles, but maybe JB or someone else can confirm.

You appear to have a Rock Island rod bayonet bolt. Your bolt may be marked with a small "S" on the back side of the handle.

      Hope this helps.

John, I can't see an S anywhere on the backside of the handle.

              Some have it. Some don't.
