    03a3 barrel date question.

I have a pristine Remington 03a3 that appears correct in every way . It is a very late gun in the 4,190,000 ser no range but it has a 7/1943 rem barrel on it. Being that this is a very late gun near the end of production could it be possible that the barrel is original to it? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't think so - the receiver dates to about January, 1944. Unless there was some problem with the "as installed" barrel and a spare 7/43 barrel was available.

      Yes, but somewhat unlikely.

I agree with JB. Of those I have recorded in the 4,190,xxx ~~~ 4,198,xxx s/n range, barrel dates recorded are 7-43 to 12-43.

It would nice to know the full s/n of yours?
