    m1922 question

Can any one tell me what the correct barrel date should be on Springfield Model 1922 mk1 #13945B? Also should this rifle be blued or parked? There is a SA in box stamped on rear of the stock. Thanks in advance.

As originally produced, this 1922 M1 would have likely had a barrel dated 1929 or 1930. As to finish, this would depend on whether is was an NRA model (blued) vs a issue version (dark blue/black parkerized-though these finishes will vary to dark blue). Term for your rifle would be 1922MII. Note addition of suffix B to receiver-though this was not added to earliest upgrades. Finish on your rifle can be anything, from blue to light gray parkerized. Any inspector marks on these stocks denotes a rework with the exception of some (not all as has been claimed) with NRA stamps seen on some of the NRA M2's.
