kinda is a 1903...M54 was a copy of the 1903, the bolt from a 1903 will work with mods in a M70...
        love the pre war M70s.
if it aint broke...fix it till it finally is.

I've got exactly the same rifle, made in the same year, with exactly the same scope. I have that Lyman scope stored away and a Weaver K4 on it right now. My rifle has the newer safety (a later add-on) and a Redfield peep sight mounted behind the rear scope mount.

Yep, I have a 1953 mfg which still hunts.
Nice rig you got there. I saw a M54 last year that I let slip by...

Gotta' love those pre-war M70's with the 20-line checkering and square-root bolt handles!

                      Have a couple here myself!

Thanks to the efforts (and beautiful pictures) of the late Michael Petrov, I got so I could really appreciate a nice sporterized M1903.
