    Greek arsenal repairs

Attached are a couple of photos of the repairs on my Springfield 1903. Earlier consensus says that they were probably made at a Greek arsenal. This post is for anyone who is unfamilliar with these repairs and what they look like.

Typical of the repairs done to cracked hand guards on the Greek M-1 Garand returns. All in all, a pretty good, utilitarian type fix.

I believe the Brits used a similar repair on their Mk III rifles to save the thin top hand guards on those rifles.

I have had several Greek returns, both 03 and M1, and the repairs seemed,as noted above, to be simple and utilitarian although not all that attractive.

I had similar repairs on one of my British (Red Star) M1903s.
