    Remington 1903 Milled Trigger Guards

I just purchased another 1903 over the weekend. So far I have not been able to buy one with a milled Remington trigger guard. I now have 4 rifles that have non-Remington forged trigger guards, and one with a stamped-which is probably correct. Most ads I look at seem to have non-Remington guards also. What's Up?

most Remington milled guards were made from Zamack. a type of zinc casting.. note: early Remington guards were not Zamack,
Zamack broke easy, and likely was replaced sometime during service..
if it aint broke...fix it till it finally is.

Many Remington milled trigger guards had a problem with the floorplates falling out. Therefore, company armorers in the Army routinely replaced the trigger guards, frequently with later stamped trigger guards. And that's documented.

All Remington milled trigger guards were made from steel, not Zamack. Zamack trigger guards exist, but they were not made by Remington.

Thanks Mike but I believe they're pinned and "B" stamped a la the Greeks. Has anyone here restored one?

Punch, I bought one two weeks ago. Pinned- stamped floor plate. 65% blued-floorplate not Rem. Good price. Would buy another. I don't work there.

Here are two of the Dupage Remington 1903 trigger guards after I refinished them. They had some bumps and bruises but well worth the money. The brown is grease.

I seem to remember a Remington milled trigger guard with a circled "R" or was I hallucinating?
