    1903 Handguard ?

    Hi Guys,
I just received my 1903/A3 stock that I got off of e-bay. It came with an 03 HG. I admit I didn't really notice it being an 03 HG. Anyway, the top of the HG has a drawing number of D28179 on the top. Would this have been for a National Match rifle? Thank You.

It was used on later National Match rifles, but not "exclusively". It was used on many M1903s manufactured (or overhauled) in the late 1930s, including NM rifles.
