    Number of Grooves in Barrel

OK, I admit right off I don't know how to count the grooves in a barrel. Photo is of SC 11-43 barrel on s/n 3689XXX Smith Corona 1903A3. I'd say it's a 4 groove but what do I know? Hope the photo is good enough to tell.

Well I see two groves on one half side of the barrel. Guess what's on the other side?

      Yes, I would say it's a 4 grove.

The barrel is a 4-groove barrel.

The easiest way to count the number of grooves is to shine a flashlight at the muzzle and count the number of lands.
