    New 1903 to me.

Finally added an excellent condition NM 1903 to my life, late 25" barrel and rest is pretty nice. Basically an unused 90 year old rifle, save for the previous owner's name that was added.

I have been looking for a nice national match for some time.

At least for me, your pictures aren't showing.

Changed the album name, and it broke all the links. They show for me now, sorry about that.

Previous owner took this nice $35.00 rifle he bought from the U.S. Government and stamped his last name on it. The nerve!

Speaking of "the nerve", I have a 1924 NM rifle that the original owner switched stocks, putting a Type B stock on it:

Couple years early right Rick? Seemed like my rifle was right on the cusp of having that as an option, S or B stocks.

If you wanted, you can steam those stampings out of the wood.

Its possible, never would have purchased the rifle, had it bothered me. Won't be steaming a pristine stock for any reason.
