Picked up an 03 Book today

Got a nice hard cover copy of Clark Campbell's book "The 03 Springfield Rifle Era" What is the story on this book. I hadn't heard about it before. An old lady friend gave it to my wife to give to me. It is in Like New condition too.

I have the final 2003 Edition (yellow cover) and an earlier edition published by Ray Riling. Lot of good information and personally I like the line drawings. FWIW I have been informed by a reliable source that Mr. Campbell had enough material to make the final edition twice its published size but he had to draw the line somewhere.

When I purchased my 3rd edition several years ago it was $49.95 (new).

What is the copyright date? Clark published various versions going back to 1957.

My copy of The '03 Springfield Rifles' Era is copyrighted 2003.

I had the 1978 and 1994 editions, but traded them for the 2003, which I still have.
