Just out of curiosity, how much of a chamber pressure is that caliber?

QuickLOAD cites "AlexArms" as the source for a MAP of 52214 psi (piezo). But remember that it's not raw pressure but rather uncontained pressure, as from a head split, that's the main concern with possibly brittle receivers. Case failures can and do occur at significantly lower pressure.

6.5-06 would be a better choice
if it aint broke...fix it till it finally is.

A low numbered '03 is not considered safe to shoot with any ammo.
A Grendel would require altering the extractor to fit the 24 thou small case head. Likely a modification to the mag well and probable the follower. Runs around 50,000 PSI according to Hodgdon.
          Spelling and grammar count!

i thought, once upon a time, folks rebarrelled the 03 to 25/06... Probly the HN's, huh???
i was just thinking that it, the 6.5, was a reworked .308 case??? Oh well, she's had the rear target sight holes, i forget the name and the front receiver band drilled and tapped, i thought she may have been a target rifle...
Anyway, i talked to the gents at Criterian and they said they could, and would be interested in producing them, with enough interest...
              Thanks for the replies...

pressures from any wild cat built on the 30-06 would be the same... maybe lower with AI shoulder.

Roger that, makes sense to me now... i was thinking the smaller round would drop the pressure, but firing a 130 or 140 wouldn't be much less than a 150...
                  Tango mike brothers...

low number receiver in 22 rim fire

I had this CMP barreled receiver, the barrel was burned-out and the receiver was without much finish and from 1916.

I had a quality 22 rim fire barrel installed with an extension at the rear and bought a late M2 bolt so the headspace
could be adjusted. You can also add the magazine too. This is a very accurate rim fire rifle and looks nice

Bolts you can find on Numrich eBay or gunbroker. Barrels same places. I've been watching for them but they go fast.
