    What 1903 is this?

    Hi,
I'm looking at this to possibly purchase. It's advertised as an NRA Sporter but I have my doubts. The receiver is a RIA with Serial # 338533. It has a Vaver rear sight and the barrel is marked '43. Can anyone give me an idea what exactly it is? Thanks in advance!

This is not an NRA sporter.

Most likely mail order gunsmith alteration from the 50s or later.

There are no RIA NRA sporters. Sorry

Thanks for the responses! That's what I figured. Can you give me an idea of what would be a fair price for it?

Without a picture of the complete stock I can't tell if the stock has the orignal buttplate. If it has, and the stock has not been modified, I would suggest the stock and barrel band is worth $450.00+ as NRA Sporter stocks are very hard to find. The Vaver rear sight was last available for sale in 1950 or 1951 so this rifle was probably put together prior to that time. I agree with chuckindenver's suggested value.
