    Bolt numbers

RIA nickel steel bolt, NS on bottom of safety lug...here's my query: on the rear facing bolt handle is machine stamped the numbers 4166. Is that a steel lot number, part number, or has my RIA bolt been moonlighting as a Mauser? very deeply stamped. Thankyou in advance, inquiring minds want to know.

Your description of the numbers is consistent with a bolt from a CMP Greek rifle.

      Hope this helps.

My bust....On the knob, not the rear face of the handle. So knob stamped bolts returned from Greece. It seems my RIA was moonlighting in Europe......Thanks.....

Yes. Some of the CMP Greek rifles had numbers stamped around the circumference of the bolt knob.
