What type of stock (can't tell from the pictures)? I'd be willing to bet the receiver and barrel are original, even though manufactured 3-4 years apart."We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."

Grasping groove? Scant? Non-grasping groove?"We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."

Looks like a nice rifle! Could we see a couple of more "overall" shots? I believe the receiver dates from ca. 1938 but was probably assembled in 1942 with the current barrel as "original".Last edited by Rick the Librarian; 03-03-2016, 06:24."We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. 'Tis indeed a very high serial number, and one of the last ones made. The 2-42 barrel is probably original.
Thanks for sharing!
